First off, I was NOT given a discount for my review. I paid the price you would and needed it to do a job and it did exactly what it was supposed to.

The screw was no soft screw, but instead it was a heavy torqued 15 year old screw in my car's throttle body holding the idle controller in place. It's a tough, long, screw. So, the whole "10 seconds or less" thing is not applicable. It took awhile of screwing, but I started to see rings around the edge of the circle so it looked like it was working. What was strange, though was that the other side (the part that looks like a screw) didn't seem to grip in tight and just spun, so I drilled and drilled as far as I could (slow process).

I was nearing the end. I was frustrated and hammered it down a few times. I don't know if that helped or not, but finallly when I put the other side in, it must've gripped enough to catch because the screw starting coming out! Whaaa? That screw was in tight. I don't understand how it did it, but it paid for itself with this one screw, but it looks like its still in great shape and will pay for itself again the next time as well! Awesome!

I really like this product. Saves me time and money. I work in a automotive field and let me tell you something there's nothing worse than fixing a broken bolt/screw. With this product i'm able to extract the damaged screw before it brakes . It's really easy to use and simple. Comes in a small portable case and instructions on how to use it .

After seeing so many "I received this at a reduced price for honest unbiased...." reviews I decided to test it out for myself and see if it actually worked. My license plate screw was stripped and it was on there pretty good, so I decided to order this. After receiving it I immediately tested it. The screw did come off but only after I started to move the drill around until it actually gripped.

The instructions don't say much, just pictures, which is fine but they aren't specific about how far you should drill or clearly state in writing only works while the drill is in the reverse position.

4 Month Update: I've used this countless times and it has always been a lifesaver. I accidentally broke the bolts off a valve cover, I had no way of getting them out until I remembered I bought this kit. Within 5 minutes I was able to get the WHOLE bolt off without leaving any damage to the area. Extremely satisfied.

Other than that I'm happy I Ordered it, it got the job done. I was NOT paid or compensated for writing this review. I bought this with my own money. (I had my girlfriend take the photo)

Equal quality to products similar that you buy in the big box stores. Sturdy with no issues of breakage. I had a stripped screw on the wheel of my lawn mower. I used a set of screw extractors that I bought from another hardware store and they were worthless. I ordered these and figured out the correct size for my damaged screw inserted the extractor and used a pair of pliers to remove the screw. I was blown away at how easy this removed the screw! I had almost given up. Highly recommend this product. I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

I’ve been wanting one of these extractors since I had to have my neighbor come down and remove a crazy stuck screw from the ‘oh shoot!’ handles in my old 4x4 so I was pretty excited to finally get this one. I went into the garage and took an old Phillips head screw, drilled it about ½ way into a knot in a piece of 2x4 pine and proceeded to strip the mess out of it. I then followed the instructions on the Easy Out extractor; 1st - burnish in reverse and then, 2nd, extract in reverse. Well, burnishing went well enough and a lot of metal was moved. Like, tons. Extracting, however, didn’t work that well. After a thorough burnishing the extractor would just spin. Finally, I ended up having burnished my way through the smaller 3 bits and was left with the big one. Fortunately for me, the big was was too wide to burnish at all, leaving me extraction as the only choice left using the big bit. Well, a spin of the big extractor and Voila! it worked. Lesson learned, DO NOT OVERBURNISH, heck if you’ve stripped the bolt enough you may be able to just toss the extractor in there and pull the screw out. Watch the video to get the full gist.

Truly an amazing set. I am very handy and was reconfiguring a mirror frame. I used a square drive, long finish screw to reattach some trim. I drilled an access hole to recess the top 1" of the screw. The screw cammed-out below the surface of the wood and no tool in my possession would allow me to extract it. I ordered this set from Amazon and within 3 minutes drilled out the damaged square head, then flipped the bit and backed out the screw. I first tried the smallest driver, but ended up using the second size. I then switched to a TORX screw head and was able to complete my project with no problems. This solved a problem for me and now will reside in my toolkit for the next time I have another impossible screw to remove. One thing to note: For BOTH the drilling and the extraction process, you need to set the drill to REVERSE. That could be clearer on the instructions. Overall a simple, but indispensable set.

Worth every penny! This product arrives in stripped-down packaging and utility, which is good if you are looking to save space for storage and only seek to store the actual product, not packaging that 'promotes' the name brand and use. Tip: Make sure you 'know' your 'righty=tighty, left=loosey' adage because the success of your extraction rests upon this. I had the two mixed up, for some reason, the first few times that I tried to extract a screw...to no avail. Like most technology, I had patience and realized that it was a self-inflicted user error. This product works perfectly, as described, even for someone who cannot tell his left from right!

I ordered these to have just in case I ever need them and as luck would have it I needed them just days after they arrived. I had a tiny screw stuck in a laptop even though it was seated in plastic. With the small bit it came right out. They seem to be well machined and have a good hard finish on them so hopefully they will last a long time.

This did EXACTLY what I needed it to. I have a desk chair that I've been wanting the arms off of for two years now, but the screws were so tight that every attempt just resulted in stripping them. This set did the job! We had to use a couple of different bits, but they worked. NOTE: If your screws are in super tight you will need an electric drill for this. Cordless drills just don't have the torque to do the job.

After all, my wife and I have gone through close to a dozen hand-held pruning saws during the 20+ years we've lived on our property. Those pruning saws always cut well when new but seem to get dull very quickly. With their close set, needle-like teeth they're also difficult to sharpen - and I've sharpened regular saws using saw sets and files. Each of those new hand-held pruning saws have cost us $20 to $25!
