I bought this product as a grooming tool for my Pugs' nails. I am SO glad that I purchased this version, because it is just right. The battery charged quickly, and as opposed to my electric (plug in) Dremel, it has just enough power to get the job done QUICKLY but not so much that it won't slow down when pressure is applied. Since our Pugs normally hate the "guillotine" clippers, our groomers have been using Dremels on them for the last couple of years. I was pleasantly surprised that when I was done trimming one dog's nails, the other gleefully ran over to me to get hers done. I will say, unless you're grooming a whole troop of dogs, you might not need to buy extra sanding rolls. But if you have a small dog, I recommend the 1/4" rolls instead of the 1/2" rolls (it comes with both). One thing that I really like about this Dremel for this purpose is, if you're worried about using a high-speed instrument on your dog, you have a great reason to be, but if you try out this Dremel at the low-speed (which seems to be just right!) on the occasions that the sander hit my hand, it didn't hurt at all, but just "felt funny". And it slows down enough with pressure that I didn't worry about hair getting caught in it, because it would just come to a stop if that happened. On the occasions that it tapped the Pug's little toe pads, it didn't seem to bother her at all. Oh, one last thing... wear a dust mask and goggles -- dog nails WREAK and the dust will end up smelling up your nostrils for DAYS, and you can only imagine the kinds of nasty organisms that might live in there. If you have a way to protect your dog's face, that would be best, too... Nasty dusty stuff.

I have the corded Dremel, but because of the cord it has limitations, so I bought this. I RARELY use my corded Dremel anymore. I only use this one now. It's amazing AND you are not giving up very much. Battery life is great, and torque is really strong. I am able to use this in any application, and the only time I go to my corded one is if I forget to charge this one. I have used this to cut through pipe, trim out wood, score tile, and much more. It's so easy to use, and so versatile that I am always finding new uses for it. It is also very well made. Mine gets knocked around a lot and even fell a couple of times and it still keeps going. I highly recommend this to anyone who has a home or does any kind of DIY project.

Bought this for my wife to do doggy manicures. :-) It serves very well, being quite quiet and sanding drums grind nails down very quickly, and painlessly. The dogs don't object the way they did with the big corded tool. Bought two batteries and she says people are always borrowing the unit at dog shows.

I bought it for my dog's nails. It arrived yesterday morning just after I started trying to fix the tiles in the shower - who were put in by a moron. Two were shoved so closely together that there was no room for grout and water leaked in rotting the wall board. I didn't know what to do since it meant cutting a tile to fit - something I don't know how to do. I thought of the Dremel, and used it to grind down one of the tiles. It worked and saved the day! If it will grind down about 1/4" off a ceramic tile without breaking a sweat I imagine it will do most anything I need it to do.

I have two Rhodesian Ridgebacks, both have massive thick black nails that need to be trimmed often. This tool is a good size and weight, it fits my hand and after 20 nails the fatigue to my hand was minor. I used the lower speed and that is a lot faster then the low on my previous grinder which helped the job to be accomplished faster! This unit does get a little warmer around the neck area than my older model did but nothing that was a concern. The installation and removal of the sanding attachment was so easy! I'd recommend this to anyone that has dog nails to grind, even big thick ones!

Another reviewer warned that the tools specifically designed to groom pets nails were under powered. I bought this specifically to file my dogs' nails. I don't even have to use it on the high power level. It works great. Battery seems to hold charge well. Charged it once and used it twice in a one month period and it is still going strong.

i got this product yesterday and was almost in tears today because i thought they had forgotten to include a collet but i went to dremel website online chat and they set me right in minutes and i was happy i didnt have to schlep to post office to return.
i have plaque psoriasis which has now been in almost 100% percent remission except for the soles of my feet where i still have minor outbreak. i also have the disgusting habit of picking at the plaques or scabs so that the next day i can hardly walk and look like a geisha hobbling about in a too tight kimono. so my feet are very rough, well i went to town today with the sander and what a difference!!!! my cats now dont mind me sticking my feet in their fur.

I had this product but in the smaller powered model, it was actually packaged as a "dog nail dremel". The dog dremel was great while they were puppies, but as adults their nails are too big/thick and needed a more powerful dremel. This one fits the bill perfectly without getting too hot or loud or being too much for them to handle on their nails. If your dogs are larger breed dogs (I have a mastiff and a rhodie) with thicker nails, I recommend getting this dremel from the get go so you don't waste money on buying two. Great product.

After using a corded Dremel for a few years that was very noisy, I really love the cordless, much quieter model. My dogs seem much calmer when I trim their nails and it's not such a battle. It has plenty of power and so far the battery life seems adequate.

We bought this dremel to grind our show akitas toenails and they work wonderfully. I was hesitant at first due to my inexperience but I watched videos on youtube and learned how to grind the nail properly and our 4 month old akita has no problems with us grinding her toenails. It is very effortless and easy to use, I especially love no cord to trip over. We ended up winning Best Puppy in Show with our akita. Thank you for making this dremel so easy to use, it really helped with our grooming.
