- Frame lock handle design
- Lightweight open stainless steel handles
- Sturdy pocket clip
- Blade Material: High Carbon Stainless
- Blade Type: Fine
If Gerber had settled for making just one version of the Paraframe knife, people might have been content. Because this reputable example of frame lock design caught on admirably among knife lovers...making the Paraframe a mainstay of the industry. But we figured there's no merit in being stingy, so we worked up a total of eight versions. And the people were pleased. There is a simplicity to this knife that relates as much to function as it does to form. It's a breeze to open. The clip point blade configuration is ideal for cutting in close-Quarters. Openness rules the day where the handle is concerned&no.8212;there's more air than metal&no.8212;so it's quite lightweight and quite easy to keep clean. Clip a Paraframe into your pocket and you're fully equipped to take care of business. Your only challenge is figuring out which one...

This knife is very good for an everyday pocket knife. I didn't want a large knife, I need something that fits in a standard pants pocket along with keys and doesn't get in the way.
The blade is sharp, the serrations are very effective. Sharpening a serrated edge is difficult but not impossible, but for this price I'd just get another one when they get dull.
Never had any issues with the lock blade opening, staying open or closing. Never had any issues with the knife falling apart like another reviewer. It can be taken apart for cleaning and to remove the clip.
I had gone from a small multi-tool type knife to this one and was glad to make the change. When I lost it I looked for a replacement locally and could not find it. If you want a small sturdy, sharp, 50/50 straight-edge serrated knife I'd get this one.

Great little knife! I bought it mostly for keeping in my pocket and opening packages. I seem to get a lot of packages in the mail. Amazon will do that to you! It's small, and has wound up almost going in to the laundry because I forget it's clipped inside my pocket! It's a Gerber, so it has a good name attached to it, and the price is unbeatable! Pictures are for size comparison, mostly. It's not much longer than a Zebra pen when opened.

I have a larger version of this knife I carried daily. I wanted one a bit smaller for when I'm at work and such. For the price it's a darn good little knife. Almost identical it it's larger brother aside from not having a post on the blade to help with opening. I definitely like this more than a lot of plastic frame knives I've used. I'd say this fits 3 of 4 fingers. It's hard to get a scale of since it's shaped exactly like other knives Gerber makes. My experience with these is they hold a decent edge, but it's definitely not the hardest steel and will take a sharpening on a somewhat regular basis if you're using it daily. Again, for the price this is to be expected. If you want something a bit lower maintenance you may want a knife with a half serrated blade.

I got my girlfriend this knife after I got my full sized paraframe and she wanted a similar option.
Cuts through everything around the house like butter, and can be clipped onto her person very easily and stylishly, as she states.
Great build and overall a fun little knife to keep around. Would definitely recommend to friends.

If you're looking for a knife that you're going to use every day, but you don't want to carry around a full size knife (because of size and weight). This one is perfect for the job. Very well built, good locking mechanism, handy belt clip or small enough to carry in your pocket without weighing it down, and VERY sharp. I've seen the ones with the serrated blades at Wal-mart for under $10.00 and the full size for $21.00. Awsome knife. Great bang for the buck or should I say the Gerber. Go get one!

I bought this knife looking for an inexpensive, small, quality utility knife to carry around every day. After carrying it for a month, it has done everything I've needed it to do and I hardly notice it in my pocket. Great value for the price!

Picked this up for my son. Figured in his youth, this knife is a good size for his hands. I have a slightly larger version of this Gerber that I have been using for a while. And it has been a dependable and sturdy knife. I shaved a spot on my arm with the little one right out of the package.

Its a Gerber, nice construction functional design. I own bigger Gerber fold ups but, found that the bigger models prevent me from getting my big hands into my pocket for keys. This one fits the bill, small and intrusive and clip it on the end of my pocket on blue jeans.Sharpens up well.

I love this knife, never leave home without it (really). For my money, this is the perfect EDC (every day carry) pocket knife. Fits in the coin pocket of a pair of jeans (I take the belt clip off, but I like having the option). It's very well made, super slim, super light, small, sharp & handy. The blade can be tightened or loosened with a turn of a screw or two, and the frame lock design makes it practically impossible for it to accidentally fold on you as far as I can tell. I carried the non-serrated version for over 2 years (it wasn't new, passed on, no idea how old it was) and it never failed (never rusted, either). I freaked when I lost it, was thrilled when I was able to find the same knife, ordered this replacement the day I lost the one I had. This is the exact same knife I had and I have no reason to think it will be anything less. I am ordering spares just in case some idiot somewhere decides to cancel the product line...
I do have one suggested improvement - put the Gerber name on the blade. I didn't know who made the one I had, glad I found out :)

I love this paraframe knife. It is light weight but durable. I have had one for a couple of years and it is as good as new. I took it to the local knife sharpening store and the guy said they were good knifes and retained an took an edge really well. Sometimes the release you push on the side of the knife is a little stiff so it is hard to close. You can not open this knife one handed.
