I hate scrubbing. Specifically, I hate scrubbing tile floors, bathtub and shower floors (all that grime that won't scrub off even after a half-hour's elbow grease), sink surrounds, and goopy messes in the bathroom.

These are just a few of the uses for this excellent tool, and these scrubbing activities are not much of a burden when I use the Drill Brush. I've used powered scrubbers before (like the Black & Decker PKS160 Power Scrubber), but when you push a little to really clean the most baked-in dirt, the thing just stops spinning. No more. The ONLY limit to the Drill Brush's power is your cordless drill. I have a nice 18V Makita drill, and if I charge up the batteries, I can get a full 20-30 minutes of high-powered scrubbing. Which is enough to scrub at least two very dirty showers and toilet surrounds.

I've cleaned the bathrooms five times each since buying this brush, and have not seen one of the bristles come off. I also clamp it down tight on the drill and spin it at the fastest setting with the trigger fully depressed, and it can take it. The plastic backing and metal bit that goes into the drill head are well-constructed.

The pros:

- Forget scrubbing. I used a scouring brush and couldn't do in 30 minutes what the Drill brush does in 5. (Especially if you pre-soak the grime in something like SC Johnson 70079 Scrubbing Bubbles 20 oz Mega Shower Foamer).
- Well-constructed, will last a while.
- Balances well on an 18+V cordless drill (my Makita still stands up on its battery with the brush attached).
- Not too heavy (so doesn't cause fatigue).
- Works great on plastic, metal, glass, tile...

The cons (all minor):

- So powerful it could strip off caulking around edges if you're not careful.
- Over time, little bits of metal from the bit will flake off (nothing structural, just the finish).
- You might actually enjoy cleaning--with a DRILL!

Tips:

- Pre-soak the area to be cleaned in something like Scrubbing Bubbles.
- Rinse the area you've just scrubbed so you can see if you missed something.
- Try to push the drill into the surface you're cleaning at a right angle to get maximum cleaning power.
- If you're going to go crazy with tons of cleaning solution, you might want to wrap your drill in a plastic bag, to protect it from moisture.
- Set the brush bristles down on a paper towel to dry.

This is a good, strong brush. My bathroom floor (marble) was filthy and the regular mop wasn't getting the dirt up. Needed something to really power it out. Used some comet with bleach and really got in there deep and it's a very big, noticeable difference. Going to mop over it with diluted bleach to get the remaining stains out. See attached pic - top half of pic is the before and bottom half is after. Hard to tell in the photo but it really is a lot better. The soap scum on the shower glass is next!

The brush was much bigger than I expected and did a great job cleaning. I ordered it to clean my fiberglass boat and it did a great job. I actually spent hours going from front to back and went through4 batteries on my B&D 18v drill. The brush shows no sign of wear after the workout.

We are getting ready to sell our house, so cleanup will be necessary. I did not feel like grabbing a scrub brush and working myself to death to do it, though. That's why we have electricity, right? I looked all over the web and finally found this brush on Amazon. It has some great reviews, and I usually look at those before buying, so I gave it a shot and I'm not sorry.

As others have said, this is a big solid heavy duty brush. It seems like something that would be sold by a janitorial supply house, to be used day after day cleaning some kind of horrible baked on industrial slag. I put it to the test in my bathtub, and it powered through the dirt very quickly. I would have had to scrub until my arms fell off using a hand brush. When I got done cleaning, the first inch of the brush was covered with a gray residue. I just took it to the kitchen sink and ran the bristles under some hot water, and the bristles cleaned right up.

This brush makes me feel like Tim Taylor on Home Improvement. It's a high quality product that does what you expect of it without falling apart. I love that!

This product works. Great results to be expected, similar in experience to what you get from powered toothbrushes doing better job in shorter time than manual brush. Rotary brush particularly good for large surfaces in terms of time. For smaller items to be cleaned, it is a toss up between just doing with regular hand brush or going through trouble to prepare a corded drill to use the rotary brush. Once set up though, it will always do the job faster in a fraction of the time. It looks well made. No loose bristles. The hexagonal shank of the product makes it easy to grab for usual 3-jaw chucks. Interestingly, this product is not available in even the big chain hardware and home improvement stores. Works like a charm in the one-piece shower-tub to remove soap residue, but use care to not have standing water as with any AC operated equipment in the bathroom or anywhere.

Wow, upon opening the box I was surprised at how large this brush is!

Immediately chucked it in the cordless drill and went to the shower. Vroom! This was taking off all the scum and mold like nobody's business. I'm bringin' white grout back, ya!

Chucked it in a corded drill and it really took off. Nice it has long bristles to really get in the corners and nice it covers a lot of area. Didn't lose any bristles either. Should make regular cleaning much quicker, not to mention so much easier.

Haven't tried it on the carpet yet, but feel it would do an awesome job.

Awesome brush! I used it to clean my bathtub that looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years when my wife and I bought our house. It took me a few hours, but it wouldn't have been possible without this brush. I used it in a cordless drill and used Ajax to pull the grime out. The surface has to be kept fairly moist (not REALLY wet) for maximum cleaning efficiency. The tub is rather dull looking now (no shine), but it's clean, and it wasn't really shiny to begin with anyway. The brush only lost a couple bristles, and it basically looks new still. It seems it will last for some time to come. I highly recommend this product for a job such as mine.

I have some cats that just love puking, eating and everything else you can imagine on my carpet. I was sick of getting on my hands and knees AGAIN to clean up a lovely, hot mess.

This drill brush solves the problem perfectly. I use the Simple Solution extreme stain remover with this and even old spots don't stand a chance.

Here's my process:

1) Pick up the bulk of the mess with a paper towel or allow paper towels to soak up the stain
2) Spray on Simple Solution and let that sit for five minutes
3) Use the drill brush in clockwise and counter-clockwise rotations until the carpet stain looks removed
4) Apply more paper towels to pull out the excess stain remover (important step)

I could scrub all day and never accomplish what I can with the drill brush. Cleaning it is dead simple. I run the head of the brush under the faucet while I slowly allow the drill to spin it. To dry it? Put the drill in the sink, so that you don't spray yourself and spin it at high speed. It will dry in seconds.

It's actually fun to work on old stains that just didn't seem removable. I have a power drill that plugs into the wall, but a less powerful drill should work well with varying amounts of pressure on the brush tip.

Enjoy!

I purchased this after someone posted a link on Reddit in a thread about making a drill brush. Seemed much easier and worth my time to purchase a drill brush ready to go. I was a little skeptical about achieving the same results as I saw in that Reddit thread, but wow, my tub looked just as good. I've also used this on my bathroom sink and kitchen sink and both had dramatic results. I utilized water and the Comet powder cleaner.

The only painful part of the process was my cordless drill, had to use my second battery to finish doing one tub. I plan on purchasing additional drill brushes of different sizes for different applications.

If you ever used the Black & Decker power bathroom cleaner and it scarred you for life, this won't let you down!

BEST SCRUB BRUSH EVAAAAAA! I slapped this into my drill (please, what other *MANLY* way can their be to quickly clean in a *POWERED* way) and within three minutes, a 5 ft by 5 ft textured shower floor is scrubbed clean. I've used all kinds of liquid scrubs to get into the pits of the textured floor for the last 3 years of owning my house and it's never been clean as much as using this brush with my drill.

The bristles are long enough to not grip and gouge the floor as shorter lengths & their soft enough to still bend into the pits of a textured shower floor to clean efficiently, without fear of scratching. I would recommend to replace when you see the bristle length begins to shorten to half the length / stiffening to avoid surface damage but this should be a very long time in between purchases.

For textured shower floors that don't clean quickly and efficiently with chemicals and green scrub pads, you better use this brush and save time & avoid chemical fumes!
