This is a handy camping shovel (or pick -- it can be set up different ways, see photos). It's also probably smaller than you might imagine from the product shot -- again, see the photos. It's more the size of a trowel than a full spade. This could be used as a gardening tool, but would be especially useful at a campsite. You could use the pick end to make holes for your tent stakes. There's also a serrated cutting edge on one side -- although it's not sharp. Could come in handy. In addition, there's what appears to be a bottle opener on the other side. Again, it could be useful -- although if you use the shovel for its most obvious purpose while camping -- as a latrine shovel -- we don't recommend that you then go pop open a bottle of beer with it! :-D

This is a very clever tool for any outdoorsy person! It is shovel that folds up and store in a zippered pouch. The shovel comes apart into two pieces. One is the handle and at the bottom of the handle there is also a compass. Then the top part has the shovel but also a pick. On one side of the shovel part there is serrated edge and could be used as a saw. On the other side there is a can opener part. The shovel screws together very quickly as comes a part in just seconds. This is not a huge shovel, so I would not recommend it for regular yard work.However it is great to bring along when in the outdoors such as camping. It could also be great to keep in your car for that time when you may need a shovel to dig your self out of something. I am planning on gifting this to my son who is an active Boy Scout. He enjoys all kinds of gadgets like this one!

When first ordered this item I was hopeful but didn't have super high expectations. I am a gardener so i am picky about my tools. I also have a garden in the difficult to grow in red clay of Georgia.
This pick is perfect to deal with Georgia's hard clay. It helps me dig a hole (which otherwise is hard to do). Of course, before I plant, I replace clay with good soil (which I highly recommend). Surprisingly, even though, this pic is collapsible, it is really sturdy and hard core when put together. Both the pick and the shovel are sturdy, strong and sharp. Some additional features I like: bottle cap opener, compass (though mine didn't work which is something I don't care about but someone else might) and a scraping sort of tool (one side of the shovel has little teeth (see pic). I love this tool so the fact that my compass does not work does not bother me at all. It is now my favorite gardening tool. Even my hubby is impressed

I use to be in the Army and I would have loved to have the folding shovel over the ones that they provided to us any day! This shovel is made of some high quality steel and is pretty awesome. The middle part has a lever that you can switch between the shovel and pike which is conveniently just a screw up and down manually. The handle is nice and durable and won't break down.
The shovel has a pike on the opposite end encase you need to cut through some tough ground. The come in handy if you have hard ground and the shovel just doesn't do the trick. Your able to pound and stab through the surface to loosen it up before digging it out.
One of the coolest parts of the shovel is that it has a bottle opener on the shovel. Now, I'm not sure if the manufacture intended for this to be used as a beer bottle opener but it works perfectly as one!

I got this tool because I am starting to do gardening. This has been very helpful with getting some of the work I needed done. I like how it is very easy to handle. It is like a miniature shovel but still effective. This has two features on it; the shovel and the pick. To use each one you just pull the side out that you need. This came in a small zipper bag that you can keep it in for storage. What I like most about this is that it is strong and durable. I also like that you can easily bring it along with you if you are going hiking or camping. This also has a saw like feature on the side of it. I love that on the end of the handle it has a small compass also. We plan on using this next time we go camping. The handle has little grooves on it so you can get a good grip on it while using it. Overall, I think that this is a great tool to have because you can use it for many different things. I would recommend this. This is a great little shovel for back packing, light weight camping, in the care or, in my case, to carry with me in the glove box of my Polaris RZR when i am out riding. It is very small and the handle screws off and spade folds in for compact storage. It can be used as a pick/hoe or as a small shovel. Works great for digging out a fire pit or digging trench around a tent. It comes in a small case to keep the shovel and handle together. It does have a small compass in the handle but does not appear to be accurate and i would not count on it in a survival situation. The shovel is durable and would be a great option if you are looking for a small, compact shovel. See the picture of me holding it in my hand for scale. Its not very big so don't expect something you can dig large holes with.

Purchased the Rose Kuli Folding Shovel with Pick to keep in our camping gear. It's a nice little shove, but it's just that... LITTLE. Which makes it the perfect size for packing and keeping right with the rest of our gear.
The shovel collapses down pretty easily and goes into the included camo case. The case seems well made and sturdy. The entire thing takes up very little space. The shovel itself seems well made too. It's made out of a lightweight but sturdy steel. The handle screws into the shovel easily and feels solid when attached. The pick function is easy to switch and feels sturdy when in use as well.

The top can easily be adjusted to have just the pick out, just the shovel out, or both out in a T. The screw that locks the top in the position you want is made out of plastic. It seems to be made of a durable plastic but knowing how plastic works, I would recommend being careful with the screw so it doesn't break on you.
Sometimes when you first pull out the tool, the compass on the top isn't pointing North in the right direction but giving the tool a slight giggle and turns will correct it each time so if you are needing to use the compass, be sure to move it around to make sure that it is pointing in the right direction for you.
As an added bonus to this tool, it has a can opener and a saw on the shovel. The saw blades don't seem to be sharp but if you need them to be sharp, I am sure a sharpener will sharpen them up in a jiffy for you.

The Rose Kuli company has some really useful and well made products. The folding shovel, pick, serrated saw blade and opener is a perfect small portable tool to carry in your vehicle, backpack or for use around the house. It is compact and works great for planting in the yard. I used mine the other day to plant some flowers and a rose. It is small but has enough leverage to dig in mulch beds. The pick works great for breaking loose harder ground. Campers will love this tool. It can easily fit in a backpack.
The unit is easy to assemble, just screw on the handle and unfold the tool you want to use. It has a lock to keep that tool in working position.
I have seen a lot of great reviews about this product and after using it I totally agree.

Funny, when I ordered this item, I was thinking it was like the one I used to own in the 70's. That on was large, clunky, and weighed a bunch. So when the big box of products came from amazon, I was at a loss at first looking for this item among all the other items in the box. Then I notice this compact camo hip pack in the corner of the box. I unzipped it and was shocked to find this mini shovel. I scratched my head for a minute and thought what would anyone want with a tiny little shovel like that. Ok, I thought then, lets try this shovel out. With in about a minute I decided that I not only liked, but I loved it. What a great idea for hikers, campers, or anyone doing bicycle tours. The shovel for its size really works good. Now granted your not going to use this to dig ditches or plant large trees. But it works great around the garden planting flowers. The unit breaks down ito suh a small and light package that you hardly know you are carrying it with you. It even has a compass built into the handel in case you get lost. It can work as a weapon for self defense while your hiking, biking, or camping. No bathroom around... dig a quick hole. Use it to dig up some worms for fishing. It is also perfect for anyone going metal detecting. Very solidly built and nice little carrying case.
