Reviewers that rated this product poorly because you accidentally ordered a wrong thing: how is your own mistake any reflection of the quality of the product that you, admittedly, ordered as a result of your own error?
Anyway, these things work great in glue guns that take 0.28" sticks. I'm pleased to have found SUREBONDER brand, as I've finally nearly run out of my old pack of 100, and I know that these things work well.
Provided, of course, you actually have a glue gun that they will fit.

We only have a low temp gun so we don't know how they'd do in a high temp gun.
In the low temp gun these work great. There is a little droplet of glue from the tip of the gun but it does not drip off so that is a good thing. We don't get the long stringy threads when pulling the gun away from the work so that is a good thing too.
All in all this product is definitely worth the price. In fact, it works just as well as the more expensive sticks so why pay more? Buy these and save money.
Actually, we have only used two sticks so far so we can't speak for all 100 sticks but the two we used so far did exactly what we wanted them to do.

I've purchased these glue sticks probably a dozen times in my short 24 years on this earth. They are the only brand of glue sticks I use. And as an avid glue-stick user, that means a lot. I've tried other brands. Occasionally dabbled in the 'cheaper imported hot glue sticks'. They don't compare- don't buy them. These sticks are hands down the best- and this is coming from a girl who literally makes her living making crafts with glue sticks. I know my hot glue better than the manufacturers probably do.
I have two mini hot glue guns- one that's a high temp and one at a medium temp. Both work equally as efficiently with this glue. It easily melts in any hot glue gun and does not require a super high temp to get very liquidy. I like my glue 'liquid'- as the more liquidy it is the better it seems to stick. This glue gets pretty soft. Yet- it hardens almost instantly. It's dried in a matter of 15 to 20 seconds. It has a bit of an opaque color to it- it's not clear. I've noticed that the "clear" glues I've used from other brands have a very toxic smell to them and also don't stick nearly as well. This glue just sticks- and that's what I need it to do.
It's worked well for a variety of purposes. I've used it on wood, fabric, bone, feathers, hemp- even beetle wings. It always sticks. The only things I find it won't efficiently hold are glass, porcelain, and very smooth plastics. For some reason it can't get a good grip on these items- and for those particular materials I'd recommend a 'super glue' type product.
This pack comes with 100. I go through them relatively quickly (this will last me about a month). For most hobby crafters this pack will easily last you a year. They're always well-packaged, uniform in size, and high quality. I've never had a 'dud'. I've never had one that was oddly shaped or too short or long. I've never had any that had a bad smell to them or didn't melt or stick well. They've all been perfect. And I've used THOUSANDS of these glue sticks in my lifetime. I love them. I'll be back for more. The price is fantastic and the glue itself- well it's the best you'll find.

I absolutely hate when the hot glue comes out of my glue gun with that yellow-ish tint to it. It makes it look old. The All Purpose Stik Mini Glue Sticks are absolutely wonderful and when the stick melts, the glue is crystal clear and dries evenly.
The part that I love the most was how affordable they are. You cant beat the price, so I ordered two!

Does not drip from the gun, heats up fast. Works well. Some other brands tend to drip a lot, which can be annoying.
Doesn't boil, dries clear, with good adhesion. It's good glue.

These are the best brand of glue sticks that I have come across! I run a small business making flower crowns and go through a lot of glue sticks! These are my favorite glue sticks to work with as they hold up really well! I haven't had any issues with construction quality with these. They hold up fantastic to the wear and tear that my customers put on their headpieces.

A lot of glue sticks for a great price, IMO! They work as expected...melt as they should...glue as they should (great hold!)...no complaints here! I use them with my mini hot glue gun and I've had no issues regarding the glue sticks thus far.

I use a glue gun as much as I use Velcro which is constantly. I have both a mini and large glue gun and the price of the 'sticks' anywhere is ridiculous. I was thrilled to find them at Amazon (both small and large glue sticks) and the price was great. Thanks!!

I own the "cool" hot glue gun and I have no complaints with these glue sticks.
We like to do a lot of arts and crafts with the kids.
I made my daughter's flower girl headband by hot glueing faux flowers onto her headband. very cute and saved me lots of effort finding the perfect flower girl headband.
I actually glued the volume knob back onto the pin.
I also hot-glued the rubber dobby back on to our door stoppers that my son likes to pull off. haha! can't remove them now!
