Work faster and avoid unnecessary disassembly steps with the TEKTON 3-pc. 1/2 in. Drive Impact Extension Set. Engineered for use with impact drivers, they reach past obstructions or into tight, narrow spaces and deliver the torque needed to break loose stubborn fasteners. A spring-loaded detent ball securely latches onto sockets, preventing them from being dropped or left sticking on fasteners. The through-hole in the drive end locks onto the tang of impact wrenches or drivers. To protect against rust and corrosion, the black oxide finish absorbs and holds oil, repelling moisture.
Set Includes:
- (3) 1/2 in. drive extensions: 3, 6, 8 in.

Upon reception of a set with visual defects (though functional), I left a review here about my disappointment. A representative of Tekton replied the same day and left his telephone and his email. I contacted the service 10 days later with a photograph of the parts and was offered a new set free of charge on the first reply !!! I received the new set today, it looks perfect!!! Now I can tell that this company rocks !!! (Michigan Industrial Tools [...]

I have owned these for about 5 months now and work in a professional shop. I bought them to replace some worn out snap-on extensions that had taken a beating over the years. I purchased these expecting to use them in my home garage and take my other snap-on set into the shop, but after seeing how they preform I took these in and gave them one hell of a beating. I use them roughly 10 times a day for various applications and have yet to have one problem with them. Quality product at 1/4 the cost of the tool truck. I actually went back and bought 2 more sets.
On a side note, anyone who complains about a visual defect on an extension obviously doesn't use them enough.... lol

With impact tools it is essential that they fit snug, or a lot of your impact energy goes away just vibrating the tool chain. These fit just right, not too tight to pull apart. Of course many sockets have a deep (or deeper) detent on one side for extra retention, if you plug it in with the retention ball on that side it'll be harder to separate, but that is by design.
I've had them for 9 months now, they not only survived initial contact with stuck fasteners but continued use by both air and LiIon 18V tools. Given the price it's amazing that you can get good Taiwan-made tools at this quality level. If you need Made-in-America, be prepared to pay a LOT more.

I have found these to be very durable so far. And as of yet, the black hasn't flaked off, which I thought might. I use these frequently and have been very happy with them. Other mechanics in my shop have borrowed them and we pleased as well. Sturdy and well built.

These extensions are very durable and I have used them a lot with my impact wrench for tightening and removing nuts and bolts that require a lot of torque to break loose. I love my TEKTON tools and suggest the to everyone.

These are quality extensions that seem like they will last a lifetime. I have used them with my TEKTON 15356 1/2-Inch Drive by 24-Inch Breaker Bar, and they work great. They fit very snug to the wrench and the socket. They are actually sort of hard to remove that is how snug they fit. I do not consider this a negative though. You need a snug fit for something rated for use in an impact wrench.
This set comes with a 3",6", and 8" extension. The diameter of the extension part of the shaft is around a 1/2".
Pros:
*Very snug fit
*Can be put under a lot of torque
Cons:
*None so far
Additional Considerations:
Keep in mind these are for 1/2" drive and 1/2" on the end of the extension.
Overall: 5/5 stars (>=.5 rounds up, <.5 rounds down) => 5 stars

I bought these because I've previously broken and bent Harbor Freight 1/2" extensions with my breaker bar and I wanted something tougher than a plain one. I figured impact extensions would hold up better to abuse. My first impression of these is that they're incredibly thick, about twice as thick as a normal 1/2" hand tool extension, which means they should hold up well. Accordingly, they're heavier than a normal extension bar. My preference is to buy impact rated U-joints, extensions, and adapters because I've broken my fair share of non-impact ones (craftsman and harbor freight).
I've used these a few times with my 26" Harbor Freight breaker bar and with my Tekton 16". I although I've used long bars with them, I haven't removed something so badly stuck that I had to do more than just pull with my arms so I haven't truly torture tested them on one of those hard to reach but also stuck bolts that are inevitable in car repair. That being said, with how beefy they are and how Tektons impact joints and impact sockets have held up for me, I'm confident these will do well.
As far as fit and finish, they're great. The black oxide looks good and it hasn't flaked off yet, the holes to hold it on the tang are in exactly the right place, sockets don't fall off of them (the ball is good), and they don't fall off of my ratchets and breaker bars. We've all dealt with cheap extensions before and the trouble they bring. These are good stuff and priced right.

Great price on these extensions. I use the TEKTON half inch drive cheater bar for the big stuff. Put these extensions with some quality impact sockets and you can really lay into the tough stuff. Most of my tools are name brand, but when you get into these bigger sized tools, the name brand is just too expensive! If I was a professional mechanic and had a fifty thousand dollar tool set, it might be different. Considering how often I need these big beefy tools, these are good enough.

I like how these come in 3", 6", and 8" extension bars. I used to just use 1 length of Craftsman extension bars, that has worked for me 95% of the time. That 5% becomes extremely frustrating at times. The 3" is great for crow foot wrenches or areas where you need slightly more of an extension. The 8" is great when you can't fit 2 bars, but 1 bar isn't enough. The black oxide finish isn't as sleek as chrome, but the thicker material is suited for high impact/torque applications. The price point is also outstanding, you can't really beat it with any other tool brands at the same quality.

Seem like decent quality and comes in a reusable holder to keep them all in one place. I did notice you lose a lot of torque using these but I don't think that's a fault of the tool. I'm guessing that would be the same with any extension.
