This is a great value.
Experience: I have grouted 3 bathrooms and trimmed dog nails with this unit.
Pros:
This is a solid unit that I think will last a long time.
It is well ventilated and did not over heat. Some chunks of grout got in the motor but the motor just ground them up and spit them out.
Accepts drimel brand screw on attachments.
Flex tool runs smooth and quiet.
Main unit is not any louder than any other tool of its kind.
Variable speed dial!!!
Cons:
The cutting tools and sander accessories are not great and you will find yourself buying new ones. I had to cut some toilet bolts but kept breaking cutting wheels and had to slow down and take more time than I thought necessary.
Ventilation could use some mesh screening. Some chunks of grout got in the motor but the motor just ground them up and spit them out.
Buy the flex tool, it is well worth it for getting into tight spaces and especially for dog grooming. With main motor on the floor and using the flex tool my dogs where much calmer about the process of trimming their nails down.

I was a little nervous buying a Chinese-made tool that involves moving parts spinning at 30k rpm, but I have to say... this rotory tool is impressive. No fancy case, no instructional DVDs, no 10,000 pc. accessory pallet, just a quality tool with the essential components that gets the job done and well. It's got plenty of power to grind through the tough jobs and the continuously variable speed control is great for those jobs that require finness. In tight places, you may want to get one of those flexible shafts, but for the work I use it on it wasn't necessary. Need a rotory tool, get this one... you won't be dissappointed.

No cheapness here - just a high quality piece of machinery, even if it is made 'over there.' Plenty of versatility. Lots of useful attachments. Choosing this rotary tool is no mistake.

It works just as well as a dremel and you can even use most of the dremel bits with it for much less. I've been using mine for 6 months now on a few small projects and it's still running strong.

Iv had a Black n Decker Rotery tool, a Dremel, a Wen mini rotery tool and now this one. Although the cord make a bit of a challenge, i chose it because it has a cord, my Black n Decker and dremel ran on battery and would only allow for a max of 20 minutes of use then 3 hours to charge, no a problem here. Its strong though on lowest setting begins to bog down when grinding or drilling and such. Only a few minor issues, it took 2 attempts to turn it on, but it only happened once. The Grinding discs seem strong for their thickness, but are fragile, good thing they are lite, almost got it embedded in my face.
Also works well with other Bits from different brands as long as you have the appropriate chuck insert.
Flex shaft works well, though isnt perfect with lower RPM's.
Overall, I am very happy with it, I would buy again.

Oh!! what a fantastic tool!!!! not sure why i did not buy this earlier.
I built a swing (converted old patio cloth swing to a wood) which needed trimming of some 35 bolts (1/4 in to 1/2 inch bolts) as the edges were bit long & i was afraid that kids may get hurt. With flex shaft it's so easy to cut through anything!!!! i completed cutting 35+ bolt in 20 min & sanded them as well.
I also used the supplied round edge sander to trim wood edge, does a fantastic job & the tool has enough rpm as well.
Shaft assembly is very easy. Overall a great tool, worth every penny.

I have had dremels in the past, but over time the motors in them failed. I thought about buying another corded dremel, but the price is 4-10 times the price of this tool. The battery models do not have very good speed control, so I prefer corded as it provides more power. This is the type of tool every home should have. I use it for so many various things.. fixing consumer products, repairing the house, engraving, creating artwork... You never realize how many things you can and will use it for. Not having one is quite painful, just like a screwdriver. This would make a perfect gift for teens+. It is fairly safe at low speeds, and the flex shaft adds to safety as it is easier to work with (and less intimidating). If you can use a drill, hot glue gun, or soldering iron without hurting yourself or damaging equipment, this tool should work out well.
The quality of this product is fair. It looks and feels much like a dremel. I think it may operate a bit louder. The flex shaft is a good feature, and goes on easily. Obviously, when using the flex shaft, there is some resistance which decreases output. However, the mobility and dexterity gained makes it an invaluable tool for doing detail work (like shaping plastics, or creating artwork). This happens with dremels as well, though the flex shaft alone for them costs nearly twice what this entire set costs. The manual says to use the shaft it may be necessary to pull the inner wire out with pliers, but this could be bad advice. As long as the shaft is straight, it should come out quite easily, thought you might have to give it a small twist to loosen it up. Removing the inner rod and applying some teflon silicone lubricant will greatly enhance the operation of the flex shaft.
The assortment of tools is quite good, and should last a while for casual users. The only thing that is not great is the case, which is fairly flimsy. Unlike dremel cases that have a backing card to fit each tool into, here they are simply thrown into a clear plastic box. Anyhow, the case gets the job done, and is fairly compact. It's a bit larger than my old dremel case, but then again, it also stores the flex shaft.
The cutting wheels are different sizes than the ones I'm used to from my old tool, but that's OK. A lot of the tools are slightly different than ones made by Dremel, but they're all interchangeable anyways. These seem to be more similar to the old Dremel bits with how the wheels and belts attach than the new ones, but no complaints here. I had a slight bit of trouble with the sanding wheels, as they do not fit snugly to the base. Wrapping some electrical tape around the base resolved this issue.

Not very powerful, but it works for most of the usages of a motortool, feels well build, fits the dremel workstation, compatible with all the dremel/black and decker accessories I have. I'm very happy with it and I recommend it.

I really love the WEN 2305 Rotary Tool. I've been working on restoring an old bird bath with frogs and lily pads. After 3 weeks of sanding a scraping all the tiny areas, I didn't make a dent in it. I decided to pull out my Dremmel and see how well that worked. After 10 minutes, the motor burnt up so I decided to look for a replacement. I saw this Rotary tool and read the reviews on it. Most reviews were good and there were a few that had me worried about buying it at the low price. As usual, I trusted the positive reviews on amazon.com and decided to take the chance and buy it because of the included flex shaft. Once again, I made the right choice. In my honest opinion, I think it out performs the Dremmel. After 20 minutes of sanding the 3 frogs, they were down to the bare metal and ready for me to paint. There were tiny crevices and the eyes and small mouth openings that I was able to sand down to the bare metal. The flex shaft makes it easier to hold the items and sand them down. My arm didn't tire out from holding the flex shaft while sanding. I also like all the extra accessories that came with the kit. My next project is going to be etching our dogs faces on glass plates for my wife. If the flex shaft was not in the kit, I wouldn't have ever considered attempting glass etching. The variable speed was another big selling point for me. I am also glad that I can use all of the accessories that I purchased for my Dremmel with this rotary tool. The only accessories I had to purchase extra are the sanding bands. At such a low price, this Rotary Tool is well worth it. I would recommend this rotary tool for anyone looking for a good detailing tool.

Wow, you simply can't go wrong for the price. I also have a Dremel mini-mite cordless tool, bought specifically to trim by dog's nails. After owning it for about 3 months, the battery no longer held a charge. So it was either fork over $15 to buy another battery or buy this one for a few dollars more. I'm glad I went with this rotary tool. It feels great in the hand and the variable speed is great! I highly recommend this to any dog owner looking for a nail trimming tool.
