Awesome utility light. It is a flashlight with a broad cover, plus it is also a lantern that can illuminate quite well. Place three AA batteries, press the power button to light up the flashlight. When doing so, make sure that the handle is installed accordingly so you will have a nice handle to it. If you want to use it as a lantern, just pull open the top part and it will automatically light up. Press it down for auto shut off. It is made of plastic and the seal I believe doesn't make it weather resistant for a long time, but it is a good emergency light for power outages, breakdown on the highway, or just simply during camping or trek in the woods during night time. This will be stored in my jeep all the time. Perfect buddy for my wrangler.

These lanterns are fantastic. They are lightweight yet durable and incredibly bright. They have the capability to brighten and dim the amount of light that comes from the lanterns as well. It can also be used as a flashlight. I'm throughly impressed with this product.

My family and I do a lot of camping, we love camping and the outdoors. We have many flashlights and lanterns (you can never have too many flashlights/lanterns). So I saw this HeroBeam LED Lantern V2.0 with Flashlight - 2016 COB Technology emits 300 LUMENS! - Collapsible Tough Lamp - Great Light for Camping, Car, Shop, Attic, Garage - BEST SELLING LANTERN IN THE UK! and had to get (because it says UK’s best selling lantern, I don't know if that's true but that’s what got me).
The lantern is smaller than I expected it to be, which isn’t a big deal, I prefer lanterns/flashlights that are smaller because I don’t want to be carrying something around that is big, bulky and heavy. It can be used as a lantern or a flashlight using the multi positional handle. If you want to use it as a lantern you just pull open the top part and it automatically lights up when it opens (pretty cool). When you don’t need anymore light or if you want to use the flashlight function just push it down for auto shut off. To use the flashlight, first adjust the handle to the flashlight position then just press the button on the top, BAM it’s now a flashlight. The lights are really bright and I do not recommend looking directly into them and don’t shine this in anyone’s eyes.
This lantern runs on 3 AA batteries, which aren’t included. It stores easily and doesn’t take up a lot of room. Aside from camping this is also a great light to keep in your car for emergencies and in your house for power outages.

I am so glad i got this ! This is a great little flash light that can be used for so many different purposes. First it is compact and can be easily stored any where . It is light weight and can be easily carried with the multi positional handle .What is most unique about this flash light , is that it has two different ways it can be transformed for use. The first is more like that of a traditional flash light and the second is that of a portable lantern. The light bulb on this thing is VERY bright ! It will light up the area needed extremely well. Just don't stare into the light though b / c it will cause visual disturbance .
This is not made out of the most sturdiest of materials , but for the money , I think it is worth it .
There is a button by the top of the flash light where the light bulb is , that turns the light on / off for traditional flash light use. If you want to use this as a lantern , all you do is reposition the handle , and pull up on the flash light , causing it to expand. The lantern light will then automatically be turned on. When you want to turn the lantern light off , all you do is push down to return to its previous flash light form.
It is really simple and easy to use and operate. It will need 3 AA batteries , but they should last a good long time b / c the lights are L E D .
This would be a great tool to have on hand for when the power goes out ! I hate when our power goes out and then I try to scramble around in the dark to try to find a working flash light. I feel better / more prepared having this light at the ready for those winter storms that often cause power outages here in PA.
Another great place to have one of these would be for camping b / c you can hang it and it will provide all the light you will need. Plus since it is so light weight you don't have to worry about where to hang it from b / c it will practically hang off almost anything.
This is also nice to use when you are trying to navigate a more difficult area like a crawl space , b / c it fits in hand easily , allowing you to focus on getting to where you need to. You can also place this on the ground or hang it where you need it to be.
I am thinking about getting 4 more of these flash light for my kids to use for when our power goes out. ( It always goes out at least once during the winter ! ) That way nobody will fight over who gets what and I wont need to stumble through darkness trying to find more light sources that probally do not work anymore !

I Just received my Hero Beam collapsible lantern flashlight, and it is so cool!
The lamp arrived a few days after the order was placed, and was nicely boxed and packaged. It was very light, and at first I thought they forgot to put the Lantern inside . . . but I was wrong.
I was expecting something a little larger, yet this little guy is extremely bright. Trust me, you cannot comfortably have a staring contest with these glowing LEDs. The amount of light is surprising, considering it only takes 3 AA batteries.
You never know when the power is going to go off, especially while living in Florida during hurricane season. With this trusty little light you never have to worry about being able to see where you are. You can use the lantern to add much needed light to a room or tent, while using the flash light to guide you along the trail, or through the cabinets. It is small enough that storage does not present a problem.
This makes being outdoors, at night, so much easier. Set up camp with illumination, take an evening stroll without missing trail markers, and feel a bit more prepared for natural disasters. I think we’re going to have to order a second one since this has already put made its way into the camping supplies.

between camping. power outages, night walking, ect. you can never have to many lights.i like to keep my camping gear simple yet effective and i also am always looking for new lanterns. enter the HeroBeam LED 2.0 collapsible 300 lumen flashlight lantern. it can be a regular handled flashlight or a table top style lantern with a carrying handle. its utilizes 3 AA batteries and isnt overly heavy either. it is decently bright too without being blinding. the LED design also allows the batteries to last a lot longer too. i love the metallic gray color too giving it a more rugged look. this lantern will defiantly be added to my camping box.
i did receive this lantern at a discounted rate.with that being said the single pack is a great price alone and the twin pack makes them less than 10 a piece!. i also will let the pics to the rest as it has a great spread too.

It’s a great functional AAA battery power lamp, much better than last year’s model. I had the opportunity to test the previous model, it was a good lamp as well but lacked the newer LED technology. The newer lantern uses flat panel Led know as COB Chip on board VS raised individual Leds. Cob led offer better color, operated much more efficient, and also are much brighter over traditional leds. The down side is they generate lots of heat.
The HeroBeam Lantern works great in smaller confined spaces like under the sink. I keep my lantern at work and last week used it when replacing a kitchen faucet. I placed it at the inside corner of the base cabinet and It lit up entirely under the sink. I didn’t even have to re-position it once to get better lighting and that has helped make my job easier being able to see clearly of what I’m doing.
The previous model has a hidden compartment under the top of the lantern where I was able to place some cash inside for emergency. That has now been replaced with a torch lamp which is great for lighting up an area from a distance. I honestly believe the lantern was design solely for camping outdoors uses. The carrying handle is design to work in two position and can easily be changed over. Overall, it’s a great product and the only flaw I found and didn’t like was a fingerprint mark on the reflector of the torch lamp. The lantern is priced just right, very affordable and comes in retail box making it great for gifting.
As the lantern design improves every year maybe by this time in 2017 we will see rechargeable Lipo battery powered lanterns. This was a product review purchase and a discount was given for this purchase.

Very cool light in a small package. This light is BRIGHT!. You can either hit the button on the side and create a VERY bright beam OR you can slide top out and the lantern light automatically comes on... OOOORRRRR you can hit the button AND slide the light out and create A LOT of light. I am sure the the batteries will not last long even if this is an LED light if you run both lights at one time.
You can also move the handle from being on the side to being up on top for the lantern. This is pretty convenient if you need to hang it off of something so that you can flood the room with light.

This thing is SO bright, I don't even know where to begin. I didn't really believe that something so lightweight (even with batteries in) could be so bright, but it definitely can. I could see it light up the room, even with all our lights on. I love that the handle can be moved based on how you want to carry it, although I do wish that the handle was a little easier to switch. Other than that though, I have no complaints.

I have a larger one that I use for power outages. But this compact one is super cute and can beam when it expands open and from the bottom flashlight simultaneously or separately. It really packs a punch for its size. I have decided to keep it right on my desk because it does not take up a lot of space. In South Florida we get a lot of power outages without any warning so I have to scramble for a flashlight. Having a Lantern sitting on my desk is very convenient and practical. I was also able to move the handle to the top quite easily.
The Lantern emits a very bright light like my larger one but uses much smaller batteries. I would different recommend this LED Lantern with Flashlight to anyone that needs a self-standing light. I really cannot believe how much of a difference LED can make in these types of lanterns. In with the new and out with the old (my large bulky Lantern).
I will update any review should the product not continue to meet my expectations.
