I purchased this when I heard hurricane Sandy was on it's way up. Fortuneat;y I did not lose power but if I had this would have come in very handy. We have power outages several times a year and I have my flashlights, candles, radio and batteries in one area but they seem to vanish through out the year. Nothing gets put back. With this tool I will keep in in my locked desk.
I did test out the featues and the siren shocked me because it was so loud. The flashlight and blinkers very bright, radio sounds good and it's able to charge my cell phone.
When I ordered I didnt realize aside from the crank there's also a Solar charger. There's also an input for a DC charger if you need charged quickly. The DC cord is not inclucded but I have plenty of them layng about.
I think it's going to be a bad winter from what I've heard, this is a must have. NO batteries ever needed. It gives me some piece of mind. I plan of buying several more as holiday gifts.
Would also be great for camping or just leave in glove box

Since going through the storm Sandy and losing power and heat for 2 weeks, not to mention not being able to get around because of the gas shortage, I've had to analyze necessary items to have in my house in case of another devastating occurrence.
The Bear Motion dynamo is a product that every household should have; not only is it self-powered and doesn't need batteries but it can charge your cell phone, is a flashlight and an AM/FM radio!
This small dynamo packs a powerful punch and will definitely buy more of this item!

Convenient and ready for use. Siren is extremely loud, just the way you like it to be. The light is bright, the radio (AM/FM) works great. You even get different components for a cell phone included. If you need one that's compatible with this item, it's cheap to purchase somewhere else. It even has a solar reflector to produce power as well as the hand crank. For the price, it's more than what I paid for! Order several for family and friends and keep one in your car. You never know when you will be stuck someplace and it's good to have something you can depend on. This emergency radio is the one.

I bought this for my family because they live in a seismic area. The device itself was a lot smaller than expected which is great because it doesn't occupy much space in emergency backpack. There's an emergency light and even the siren is pretty loud. It comes with a few adapters - even a USB one! - to charge things when needed.

I bought this for my husband for his birthday and we both love it. There should be a small compartment that the charger can fit in so that it's not lost or forgotten. We get power outages so having this is awesome. We like the reception, lights and the sire is a plus. I'm glad I bought it. I would definitely recommend buying it.

I was really impressed with the functionality of this device, especially at this price. Radio stations come in loud & clear and I found the hand crank to be easy to use. I was able to charge my iPhone (iPhone 5). To successfully charge phones with the more recent IOSs, you must do the hand crank charging while the phone is turned off to by-pass Apple's software restrictions that are not friendly to non-Apple, third party devices. Start the charging while it is turned on to get a feel for the crank speed you need (the lightening bolt icon will come on and you can see that the phone is responding). The only problem is that it will not actually increase the charge -- the percentage number will not go up -- as long as the device is on. So once you get a feel for the hand crank speed, turn it off and hand crank charge it while it is off. I tried a whole lot of other tactics to bypass the software, but this was the one that finally worked for me.

My husband loves this, especially after Super Storm Sandy we needed a new one. My husbands old one we had to crank too much and only got a little radio life here and there. He loves this he cranked it a few times and let the flashlight run. It ran for a good 4 hours before it started to dim ( ten turns ). We also got half an hour of continuous radio. We haven't experimented with the solar power option yet.

I purchased this as a 'just in case' item for hurricane season. The size of the light is smaller than expected. It is extremely light weight. We have used this light on a overnight camping trip and it worked marvelously. I enjoyed the solar charging feature so we didn't have to crank to charge the light. The radio picked up many stations. I used the phone charging feature and I was able to get my iPhone 5c to charge.
