I was curious about this LED camp lamp, watched it awhile when Amazon had a great price on it during a Daily Deal and jumped. In the past I've had other LED lamps I've tried out, most had the same problem. Cheaply made.

One was so bad, though it worked great light-wise, but was as fragile as an egg and easily broke.

I looked at other LED lamps at REI, and admittedly. coveted them, mainly turned away due to price. Til I ordered the Etekcity lamp.

First off I am very comfortable with the overall construction. Not cheap plastic like some of the others I tried, held . The battery compartment is easily accessable, taking 3 AA batteries. The 30 LEDs are amazingly bright and great for an area lighting. The plunger style system works great, having it light up when lifted up and depending how much light you want, you simply raise or lower the upper assembly. Plus the folding wire handles make it great to carry or hang. The closed overall size of the lamp is roughly the size of a can of soda and a little bit wider. Perfect for camping, fishing, emergency light for a camper/RV/Auto or as an emergency light for home use. Certainly worth the price to afford two or three. Keep one in the trunk of your car, one in the basement or garage and possibly a spare in a closet.

Suggestions for the company, maybe make them availabe in other colors.

 My first reaction when I opened up this camping lantern was WOW! ... I can't believe how bright it is. My next thought was I wonder how long the batteries will last, but after using it for two weekend camping for at least 4-5 hours a night, the light is still very bright.

Overall Build quality of this lantern is excellent, performance is great and the built in handles are great for carrying it or hanging it up inside your camper, tent, outhouse or simply placing it on the picnic table.

BTW: Turns out this light isn't just for camping, I started taking it to my job sites and I'm using it as a portable jobsite light. It's great for lighting up cabinets, ceiling and crawl spaces and utility rooms.

My husband loves this lamp. I got it because we are planning a camping trip and needed something that delivered good lighting. This lantern definitely does the trick. We bought two lanterns, one being the Dorcy Mini LED Flashlight Lantern and this one. They are both relatively the same size hight wise, Dorcy is a little wider. I love that the Etekcity is compact and collapsable. I'm not a fan of the handles, wish they came with some kind of hook or latch. The Etekcity Collapsible Lantern is slightly heavier, but just barely. I have to say that the Etekcity lantern is much brighter though. The down side, Dorcy claims it can last up to 70 hrs although it requires 4 AA batteries. Etekcity claims to last up to 8 hours and only uses 3AA batteries which are included. So far, it's been a fun lantern to fiddle with, but I will update my review after our camping trip.

I love this Etekcity Ultra Bright Portable Camping LED Lantern. Growing up when going camping we always used flashlights. So that's what I have been doing with my kids. Well at least until I tried this Lantern. After trying this lantern I have to now ask myself why did I wait so long to get one. This gives off more light than a flashlight does. Its very bright. This is portable so when you are ready to use it just pop it up and the light turns on when your done push it down and the light goes off. It is that simple. I know right hard to believe its that simple but it is. The battery department is located on the bottom of the lantern. It has handles so you can hang it if you wish to do so. Did it start raining while camping? No problem this lantern is water resistant. Its very light weight.

Cons: None that I have noticed other than it is bright and if your eyes are sensitive then you might not like this but the brightness doesn't bother me

Around where I live in the winter time when we get a lot of heavy snow we loose power a lot this is going to be perfect for those times to.

I just purchased two of these lanterns from Amazon and couldn't be happier with them. They're extremely light weight, collapse into about 3/4 the size of a soda can (making them very pack-able for your trip), and are as easy as pie to figure out. The handles make the lanterns convenient to hang or to hold, and adjusting the light level is as simple as folding the lantern down until you hit just the right intensity for you. Plus they are well made and sturdy. It doesn't hurt that they're sharp looking, too. I would definitely recommend Elekticity's collapsible lantern, and am happy that I bought two.

Good product. Comes with batteries. It's small maybe as tall as a soda can and 1 1/2 times as thick. Gives a bright light. Portable and handy. I got it for camping but will keep it in the house just in case of a blackout

This is a very small lantern, but its an awesome one. Its about the size of a can of coke, a little bit bigger. Its very bright, like extremely bright, it can blind you. When collapsed, this lantern measures 4 3/4'' tall and has a 3 1/8'' diameter. When open up its 7 1/8'' tall plus handles, that can be used for carrying or to hand this thing up somewhere. Its very easy to use it, to turn it on you just pull it up and push down to the end to turn it off. You can leave it also anywhere in the middle, so there is less light. It uses three AA batteries and it comes with a set of three, so it can be used right out of the box.

The simplicity of this lantern amazes me, it doesn't even have a button for ON/OFF option. Its a nice, deep black in color and has an EtekCity brand logo written in white on the front. It lights up my whole room at night. Its a great, great camping lantern. It weights 10.9 oz, but it feel very light weight in my hand. Im going to keep it in my car, so I always have it on hand. There is nothing, that this lantern is missing, its extremely sturdy and heavy duty. Just don't look directly at the light source this item produces, because you won't see for a few seconds after, similarly like looking at the sun. I could be reading under this light.

This is a necessary thing to have in your car`s first aid kit and for camping. Also, for staying outside of the city after the dark, where lighting isn't that great or there is no lights at all. The manufacturer claims that its waterproof, I haven't tested, but it looks like it is. Its definitely rainproof and splash proof. Im very happy with this product. Its very high quality and useful.

This is lantern was much more than I expected for the price tag. I bought this for camping and was very happy with the amount of light that it put out. The small pop up design makes it easy to pack away without taking up room in my small car. We used this lantern to make trips to the bathroom in the middle of the night, and for an extra light by the campfire and gave us a good range of illumination in both situations. This was hung on the side of an EZ-Up and filled the whole 12x12 canopy with light as well as lit up the area outside of the canopy. The construction on the lantern isn't bullet proof but is much sturdier than what I was expecting.

I was very impressed by the quality and brightness of this light. I like how if you pull the light out slightly, it still lights up and isn't super bright/blinding. It's better than any flashlight that I have ever purchased. I even went back and ordered another one.
