The Utili-Key has to be one of the most convenient multi-tools out there. I don't go anywhere without it, and it gets a lot of use in all kinds of circumstances.
It's the size of a large car key. When it is locked on the keyring, it isn't going anywhere unless and until I am ready to use it. The screwdriver heads are fully functional and sturdy, although there is a risk of getting cut on the knife blade if it is handled carelessly (not like I'd do that, but this isn't a kid's toy). The blade is sharp and stays that way very well.
If you like being prepared for anything that might happen, this is a must-have tool for you. Check out the rest of Swiss-Tech's product line as well.
One warning: Do _not_ carry a Utili-Key in anything carried on a plane. Scanners do know what they are and how to find them. Stow it instead because it will be confiscated otherwise. I hate taking it off my keychain when I travel, but it must be done.

When I first noticed the Utili-Key at my retailer, I thought the $10 price was a little high for something so small and simple, but the stainless steel finish seemed well done, and it looked like a high-quality tool so I bought it anyway. I have since found out that the tool also comes in a gold color (titanium nitride) at some retailers.
Now that I've had it for a while, it seems well worth the money. This product was made in China and unfortunately I have seen some low quality steel tools that were made there, thankfully this one is an exception. The tool opens and closes precisely and seems to have tight tolerances. The serration's on the lower knife portion seem to have been carefully cut. It looks as though one side of the Utili-Key is slightly more polished than the other, probably for marketing reasons as the more jeweled side was facing up in the retail box. This is a minor point as the other side still looks just fine.
When I first bought the Utili-Key, it was not clear to me that it would open up a full 180 degrees. That would have been okay since the tool is completely functional when opened 90 degrees. There are no springs involved, and it appears to be made of out of exactly 3 pieces of steel. It clicks into either of the two open positions with a bit of pressure and stays in place fairly well, but it is not locked into position which means that it can still close up on your finger if not used carefully. The knife is very sharp and it could cause an accidental injury during the use of the philips part of the tool since the blade is opposite the philips head.
The tool is so small and unobtrusive that I cannot imagine why anyone would not want to have the easy convenience of it right on the old key-ring. The length of it is just slightly shorter than the ignition key for my vehichle. Even if you carry other types of multi-tools or a pocket knife, it would be worthwhile to have this in case you forget your other stuff.
I really enjoy discovering clever well made products and this one is a keeper.

I bought this as a redundancy item in my every day carry gear. I am pleased with it.
Pros:
• Packaging is nice. Instead of just listing every tool, the tools are diagrammed on the package. You don’t have to hunt and peck for the tools. Also, the item is nicely secured in the packaging.
• The size and weight of the item allows you to put it on your keyring or necklace and not add much bulk or weight. The item weighs .5 oz.
• The serrated and straight blades were both very sharp. Serrated edge cuts through thick cardboard boxes, straight blade cuts paper. No idea how long the blade will hold the edge.
• A sturdy little tool, no bending or flexing when in use.
Cons:
• This item is very hard for me to open. I struggled with it the first time. It gets easier with use, but is still difficult and requires both hands.
• Because the item takes two hands to open, you might drop your keys while opening it from your keyring. This is no big deal as long as you are aware of it. I forgot about it being attached to my keyring a few times and my keys fell to the ground. If you are preoccupied when you pull this out, you might not notice losing your keys.
• The straight edge and the serrated edge are both so short that I don’t see them being useful very often. They are blades of last resort.
• The eyeglass screwdriver is a little too large for the 2 pair of glasses I tried it on. However, many YouTube reviewers said it worked great for them.
This item is for you if you need a redundancy tool. Great for stocking stuffers, glove boxes, mini first aid kits, etc.
This item is NOT for you if you are looking for a primary tool, survival item, or tactical item. It simply isn’t designed for that kind of use.
Overall, I give it 5 of 5 starts because it does everything it’s supposed to do, the description matched the item, and it's just what I wanted. I may buy a few more to spread around.

I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend, and although he thought it was kinda hokey at first, he ended up loving it. It goes on your keychain like any other key, but snaps off easily by just opening it up (the blades.) The two screwdrivers heads work fine and are very hard and don't dull or warp with repeated use. The blade is RAZOR sharp and has yet to dull. It is small, but can cut through so much. A great overall buy.

This little thing is great! At first, I thought, "I probably won't use this that much, I can get it for like 6 bucks so why not"...well I couldn't have been more wrong. I use this thing ALL the time.
I was amazed at how incredibly sharp the blades are, they aren't messing around.
The size of the utilikey really fits nicely on my key chain, it doesn't stand out anymore than any other keys do, which was an initial concern I had.
The screwdrivers are great in a pinch, obviously not something you'd want to use to do a project with, but when you need something right then and there to take a screw out or tighten on your glasses, this thing couldn't be more convenient.
It's actually sort of a pain to open, HOWEVER that is a GOOD THING. I have zero fear of this falling off my key chain ring, as you need to be very intentional when opening it. So I'm glad it's as sturdy as it is.
All in all, for the price, it is totally worth it, really superbly convenient, and great quality top to bottom. Couldn't be happier with it.

I have carried this tool with me for years. Unfortunately I forgot to take it off my key chain when my Wife and I went to the commissioning of the USS New York a few weeks ago and the security guys picked up on it and made me dispose of it before entering. I went to Brookstone to see if they still carried it but they didn't so I took a shot in the dark and looked on Amazon. Well here it is and almost half the price of what I paid in Brookstone. I can't wait to get it back on my key ring again.

It's great for opening packages and bottles and tightening screws. While it's got fewer functions than a multi-tool or a Swiss Army knife, it's so much easier to carry around (on a key ring) that I use my Utili-key all the time.

I owned a few multi-tools in my life. I had the compact Swiss army knife, Leatherman micra, and other Asian made models with similar functions. I have to say - THIS IS THE BEST COMPACT MULTI-TOOL on the market. Why? First of all, it is extremely small. Most other compact tools require you to attach them to your keychain, regardless of their design, they will always get in the way of your keys, your car remote .. etc. This thing IS A KEY on your keychain. It coexists with other keys, does not takes up space in your jeans. I work warehouse, and this tool is always a life saver. Opening boxes, cut tapes, bundles, industrial shrink wrap ... I mean I use almost everyday for 6 month, and it is still just as sharp. What else do you want from a $10 tool?
If you want a minimalistic compact multi-tool, this is the one you want. Highly recommended!

I got this product for my boyfriends father for christmas and he absolutely loved it! He has it on his keychain and everytime we need to open something or unscrew something he pulls it out. This is a man that has every tool imaginable. So if he likes it it must be good!

In Short: Very small and descreet; great blade to have on hand to open boxes or other packages from time-to-time. Probably not intended for heavy usage or a primary use tool.
Many reviewers here are right on point - this is a very handy little thing to have on your key ring. Although not as expertly machined as some other tools out there, it does look very discreet on your key ring, and its sharp edge is perfect for opening boxes or the occasional blister pack.
Per other reviewers' comments on the bottle opener: I have a posted a picture demonstrating the method I believe the designers intended for the key's bottle opener function. You should push up on the screwdriver portion of the key, not down on the blade portion. I'll agree that its not the greatest bottle opener, but it does work without cutting off fingers.
My only complaint is that when opened, my Utili-Key is a little loose. I think it will eventually break in half (as another reviewer said), but probably only when used as a pry bar or something.
