These are great shears. They are very sharp, comfortable to hold, and work well. Granted, I don't have a lot of experience in high quality shears, as all mine have been the $5 or less variety from the discount store. These looked nearly as nice as the much more common $20 plus shears from the big name brands. The build quality seems excellent, and I especially like the way the lock functions. It's easy to lock or unlock them with your thumb, and they don't re-lock on their own or come unlocked without effort. The only thing that's missing is a hole in the handle to hang them on a nail on the wall of our garden shed. But I know that ahead of time, and have another option.

I bought another pair on Amazon and had to return it because it was cheap and did not even cut a 1/4" branch. I bought this one as a replacement and am really happy with it. You can see the size of the pruning blades are thick and sturdy. My husband cut a 1/2" branch with no problems. He was really skeptical after the last pair and was very happy to report how well this cut. He said they are nice and sharp. The handle is covered with plastic sleeve over the steel handle. I am really happy with the steel handles because I have had some in the past that the handle grips broke and the tool was trashed. These are very well made and should last a long time. We agree these are heavy duty and we personally think this is a high quality pruning shear and definitely a must have in your gardening tools selection. They have a lock to keep them closed when not in use but so do all the other ones out there so that's nothing special about this one itself, just pointing it out.

I do not see anything about this product that I do not like about it. They are all over the internet and in home improvement stores but this one is well worth the price. Even the price is very good for such a good product. Fast shipping and received promptly. Very happy with the entire purchase of this.

Efficient & comfortable to hold. These garden shears are my favorite among 5 pairs of various brands I bought over the years. I left them out in the rain overnight the first time I used them. I have not seen rusty areas so far. The rubber sleeves over the handles are well attached. I had bad luncs with the sleeves coming off with the other brands.This product was provided at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review.

This is a very strong, sturdy shears. First thing I did was a lot of small branches on a flowering tree. I was suprised at the size of branch it cut. It fits my hand very nicely. I received this item at a discount for my honest opinion and I am glad I purchased it.

These pruning shears are very sharp. They have comfortable handles whether you are left or right handed. The spring is good so that when you let go of them, they come open. There is a clip closure so that you can leave them closed when not in use. When they are closed, all it takes is a squeeze with one hand to make them come open.

I have found nothing not to like about these after using them a week. How long they will stay sharp is something that I cannot answer at this point.

These shears are great. I purchased a few different ones from Amazon- all of which claimed to be durable and well made and one specifically that was more expensive and crafted well with solid wood handles- these are the best- with strong hands they've tackled 1/2 inch diameter wood without getting stuck. Good product.

These are getting better the more I use them (!). The first few times I used them for light trimming in my garden I noticed that while they have a wonderful "closing" motion (smooth when you squeeze them together to actually clip something), they were a bit slow to open back up and "release" again. That's a big pet peeve of mine when I have a lot of clipping to do and need to do it rapidly. I was planning to give this a 4-star review. So I was pleasantly surprised the next day (and subsequent days) when I noticed that the ThornX pruners were loosening up and retracting really smoothly and immediately. Maybe they were a bit stiff when they first arrived (?). So, these have been upgraded to 5-star...
A question I always want to know is -- what would you use these for? I tried them on my tomato plants (clipping the yellow or withered stems near the bottom), and these are probably too thick for that. These are better for slightly thicker stalks or twigs - maybe 1/8 to 1/2 inch circumference. They clip through soft to medium hard wood fairly easily.
Other pros:
- They fit comfortably into my hand. I'm 5"5 and have 'normal-sized' woman's hands. They don't feel too large where it's uncomfortable or will give you a strain after using them for a few hours.
- They have a nice clean 'snip' - the blades seem well made and well-aligned so you don't have to pull or twist at all to clip or snip the twig/branch/etc.
- They are a nice weight - not too heavy but sturdy enough.

As we garden and prune a lot, we seek out pruning shears that are able to handle the thicker overgrowth. As you will see in the video, these do handle some thicker branches well. The thin branches or plants, these cut like butter through the stalks or sections. The handle is comfortable for the hands and for those with arthritis like I have, you won’t struggle with these as the spring action is nice, not super tight, so there is not a lot of umph needed. These do come with a protective nylon sheath that velcros shut and has a loop for a belt. The cuts are impressive even through thicker branches as the cuts are smooth and precise. Actually, for the crafters, these would make smooth cuts for projects when using branch pieces.

These easily cut through small branches with no effort. The thicker one that we show in the video I had to squeeze 3 times to get the teeth to go through. But that was a decent thickness of a branch and being green, which is harder to cut through. The shears feel comfortable in my hand and have a lock on them. And the best part, a belt sheath so I can wear them while I am working outside. I like them, we’ll put them to use.

I was so sick of the crappy garden shears that I have been using over the years. They all say they are good but they were all very mediocre. None of them felt like they were going to last very long and guess what..... They didn't. This pair of shears feels solid and well made they are the best quality shears that I have owned to date.. They cut everything so easily. In the fall, there is a lot, And I mean a lot of pruning and trimming to do around my home. I need a reliable set of pruning shears to get the job done without me hurting my fingers doing it. The design of the handles make them comfortable to use, I have arthritis in my fingers and have always found that I can only do so much pruning before my hands hurt too much and I have to stop. These comfortable soft handles allow me to do far more work, in fact. I wasn't stopped by my hands hurting, I was stopped by my back hurting :-). Now, If they could make pruning shears that also helped ease back pain... They would have a surefire winner! These pruners are sharp and work well. The fact that they are rust resistant is definitely a bonus. I received a discount for my honest opinion and that is that these shears are really good and cut quite large branches and twigs.
