Good value for the kit with two batteries. I plan on making this my new daily driver. I did a side by side comparison between this and the m12 impact (not fuel), and the 18 volt nicad dewalt dc825. The Dewalt has 1400 in pounds of torque and the older version (not fuel) of this has 800. Milwaukee claims this Fuel model to have 1200. My test was a pine 2x4 driving 2" drywall screws, 5/16" x 2" lags, drilling 1/2" hole and 1" hole with new Dewalt spade bits designed for impact. All of those tasks were completed in a few seconds or less. The lags were the biggest challenge. In every test the fuel amost beat the dewalt within a few miliseconds. It did beat the dewalt on the 1" hole test every time. The older m12 version(not fuel) came in last place every time and could not complete the 1" hole. No performance difference was noticed between using the included 2.0 batteries and a 3.0 XC battery. I didn't drive a 1000 lags to see how long the batteries were going to last as I'm sure the XC would last slightly longer. After all my tests, the m12 battery still showed full. Test was five of each of the above. It wasn't a big test, but enough to convince me it would be my new sidearm.
So now I can retire the 18 volt Dewalt to apprentice duty, and put this on my belt as my primary driver. Which the clip means I don't even need my holster anymore. This is a few pounds lighter considering the battery technology and overall size of the tool; which will make my back and my forearms happier at the end of the day.

This impressive brushless 12 volt impact driver was used to build some garage shelving a few days ago. It's fits very comfortably in my hand, and is fairly light, both contributing to lessening fatigue. I was able to drive over a pound of 3" wood screws quickly, easily, and without slowdown; matching past performance to much heavier 18 volt drivers. Another plus is that the batteries charge very quickly, enabling an infinite loop of swapping the two included batteries. This impact driver will NOT be the last M12 Fuel tool I purchase this year.

The strongest twelve volt I've used. The first thing I did to test, was drive a 4.5 inch screw into old tight grain wood. Buried it a half inch past the head without hesitation. Makes holes with dull paddle bits well too. The battery also seems to last longer than my other guns. The gun is a little heavier at the head. Probably much more durable. Wonderful so far. I would definitely recommend this. Also the low speed option is a good feature. Great for doorknobs and such.

Love this thing! I was freaking excited when it arrived, couldn't wait to use it. I just charged both batteries to 100% and used it frequently at my job on the 25th of April this year, its May 3rd and I still have full charge! I never knew how fast this thing moves. I got to go buy the electric ratchet next. This was a great purchase.

Hands down the best drill i have ever used.....period. When my dewalt 120V plugin drill started smoking and could not handle driving 6 inch structural screws through 4x4's into a wooden beam this little 12v drove them right in. A single charge lasted me the whole prject of a double stair rail system. I keep raving to my wife about this little drill and how powerful it is....i will never go back to a regular drill again!

Fantastic tool. It's what every guy wants in a tool.Strong,dependable,portable,versatile,reliable.
Wait. That's what a woman wants in a man.
But it's true for this impact/driver. Love it. I gave one to my two sons as well.
Couldn't be happier.!!!

Wow....As an electro mechanical technician I have used many different cordless impacts over the years. Normally the 12volt lines just don't have enough torque or flexibility for my needs. This makes me lug around a 18V impact and drill everywhere. I finally pulled the trigger on Milwaukee and see why the price is high. This impact is top notch, fit and finish is amazing, and the ergonomics is great. 1200 in-lbs is getting into the big impact range in such a small package. The biggest thing for me is the adjustable torque.

With the click of one button I can drop down to 175 in-lbs of torque, this means I don't have to swap tools when moving from 1/2" bolts down to electrical panel fasteners. The red lithium batteries really are impressive and they have a super fast recharge time. I'm interested in the future to see how the high capacity battery will fare.

The size, weight, and ergonomics of this impact are what make it special. If you are going to be building a deck and running 3" deck screws constantly than the increased size, weight, and torque could be useful. But I have yet to find a situation outside of massive lag bolts that this impact cannot handle, that my larger 18V can handle.

This little guy kicks butt! I have the 18V Fuel drill and driver set as well. Once I got this those stay in the truck and this comes in with me. It drops right into the center of my electrician's bag. Unless I'm doing some flex bit work or knocking holes in studs this thing does all I need and weighs almost nothing.

Definitely pay the extra for the brushless. They are two totally different tools.

Replaced an M18 impact driver after about 3 years of heavy use (full-time handyman). This one is phenomenal! Smaller, lighter and just as powerful. Have used it for a couple months. Would buy one again in a second. Not stocked in Home Depot stores?! Thank you Milwaukee!

After all, my wife and I have gone through close to a dozen hand-held pruning saws during the 20+ years we've lived on our property. Those pruning saws always cut well when new but seem to get dull very quickly. With their close set, needle-like teeth they're also difficult to sharpen - and I've sharpened regular saws using saw sets and files. Each of those new hand-held pruning saws have cost us $20 to $25! The only exceptions
