Before purchasing this package of Sawzall blades, I was a little concerned that the blades might not last too long in our hands. After all, my wife and I have gone through close to a dozen hand-held pruning saws during the 20+ years we've lived on our property. Those pruning saws always cut well when new but seem to get dull very quickly. With their close set, needle-like teeth they're also difficult to sharpen - and I've sharpened regular saws using saw sets and files. Each of those new hand-held pruning saws have cost us $20 to $25! The only exceptions were 3 Chinese pruning saws that I picked up for about $5 apiece. Those, however, would not even cut through a single limb and I threw them away. My first use of the Sawzall pruning blade (in my cordless reciprocating saw) was a huge job to lop 15' off a very tall hedge - to eliminate the shading of one end of our new rooftop solar panels. I was a little uneasy that the slim, thin blades might bend easily. This did not turn out to be a problem as the blades often flexed without taking a permanent set. After several hours of cutting 2" branches and trimming up the piles of debris, the single blade I used still seems as sharp as a new one. That may be because of its flame-hardened teeth. And, the blade didn't clog easily due to its widely pitched teeth.

I've given thought to mounting a wooden handle on another one of the Sawzall blades to make my own version of a hand-held pruning saw. After all there are many occasions when we just want to trim off a small branch or two and don't want to take the time to break out the cordless reciprocating saw. At $3 for each one of the 5 blades in this package, I may never need to purchase another expensive pruning saw again!

This saw blade cuts well and has stayed very sharp after much use on hard wood. It's not cheap, but I have to say it's still a good value.

I used these on my 11 amp Milwaukee Sawzall to cut down a couple of 12-14 foot tall bush/tree shrubs. I got a pack of 5 and only used 1 on both. On any branch ~5 inches or less these will chew right through no problem, bigger than that, they'll still do ok but you got to work at it as well. Of course if I had a higher powered sawzall this may not be the case. Also as other reviewers have said, the blades I got where not the green painted ones in the picture. I posted a picture in customer pics of what I received, they are Milwaukee pruning blades, Milwaukee probably just changed the finish on them.

These blades are fantastic. I use them for pruning fruit trees and trimming up some trees around a path outside. I like the 12 inch length because it gives me a little more reach.

The downside to a long blade like this is that they can bend easily if you're not careful….like I was with my first one. So my first blade is bent, but it still works well and now I just use that for rough pruning and pay more attention with my other blades and the fruit trees.

They cut very well. It took no time to saw off a six inch cherry trunk that was damaged by wind, and I use it in a one-handed Milwaukee hack-zall (the small version of a sawzall).

These blades last a long time. I mainly use my first blade that is bent and chewed up from work in the forest and it still does a great job. My 2nd blade is strictly for the fruit trees. I do disinfect that one with alcohol and/or a bleach solution and haven't noticed any corrosion. I expect that with 3 other unused blades, I will get a few years of use out of the package.

Oh - these were made in Switzerland which I thought was great, and might help explain the quality and longevity

I am using these blades with a Makita 18 volt cordless reciprocating saw, and I love them for cutting high, awkward branches that are a bit too big to reasonably do with my Silky hand pruning saw, yet too near to other branches that I wish to keep to bring a gas chainsaw to bear. They really excel in dense areas where it is hard to get a good hand saw action. I have used them for pruning apple and cherry with excellent results, and did all four of my mature trees with no perceptible change in the sharpness of the blade. While it is no substitute for either the hand saw or the chain saw, this blade makes my reciprocating saw a tremendously useful tool in my pruning toolbox. I would heartily recommend it.

I purchased a package of these blades to cut down a 6" Oak Tree that was covered with English Ivy. the Ivy had grown around the tree for at least 10 years and had died this last winter. It would be impossible to remove the ivy from the tree since it had become imbedded into the trunk. I needed the 12" length of the blade and it proved to be all I had hoped for a more. I cut the tree down to the ground in two foot sections. The tree was over twenty feet tall. The whole job was done with one blade. I recommend these blades highly!!!

I purchased Milwaukee Sawzall blade to be used especially for cutting through the cedar tree that sits in front of my house and the blade did an outstanding job in cutting it. I would recommend it to anyone in need for the best blade. I am very pleased.

The picture shown are not the exact product. The blade is sliver color like the one at Home Depot. I took the risk to buy this one thinking it is green blade. In the end, it was the Milwaukee OEM blade.

I used this blade with a Milwaukee reciprocating electrical saw to cut off a pine tree with a trunk that was about 8 inches in diameter and 20 feet tall. i also cut off all the limbs and then cut them into 3 feet pieces. Saw is still in excellent shape and sharp.

I have used these blades to cut down small trees and prune branches and they don't ever seem to get dull! It can be a little slow going through thick branches or trunks, but it gets there and the blade is still ready to cut more after.
