I have used this potting soil for years with a variety of plants from aloes to spider plants to shady water loving plants with great results. All my plants are happy and none have died from sogginess or root rot. I am very pleased with this potting soil and LOVE being able to buy online. I don't have a car so transporting soil from the store has always been a pain in my ..... arms.

I am very new to propagating succulents, and realized they weren't doing so well in standard potting soil. Just a few days in the new Hoffman soil and they already look stronger. Would definitely recommend.

This soil is hard to find in stores. I've bought at least a dozen bags, and all the plants are doing well. Gives excellent results also when mixed with vermiculite and potting soil (1 part each), if you need something less dense than potting soil.

I knew nothing about Growing Aloe Plants. I knew how to care for ones that were all grown up and self-sufficient, but I grew plants from seedlings and was nervous about what they needed. This soil was the first soil they moved into, out of their little "nursery". It is amazing how well they are doing! I did not mix anything with the soil, just used it alone. My plants are full, healthy, and growing. It is important to pot them so excess water can drain and in colder climates in the winter, they will not grow as fast, nor need as much water. However, the soil will do its job, if I do mine. I recommend this as it has served my young plants well.

I got this for my wife to plant succulents. It's the amount of soil as advertised. It's really soft and more dry than potting soil, which is what succulents and cacti need. It holds water well and the plants grow nicely. You can't beat the price either, I bought this on the Amazon app while looking at the same thing at Home Depot, it was way more expensive there.

I'm new to the succulent world, and after doing research, the proper soil is the most important aspect for proper care. I've used this soil for dozens of plants, and they're all thriving! I'm starting to think I have a green thumb. If you're thinking of starting a succulent garden, this soil is the best.

Hoffman's perfectly balanced ph succulent soil has been around for a long time, but is getting harder to find in my local nurseries. It is well balanced to promote a healthy root system growth all the way to producing beautiful blooms.
I do reserve it for the more rarer succulents I have in my collection when they begin to reseed themselves. I also use this for starts from cuttings. This is the best soil that will give the best chance for a successful new plant!
Just note that this is a small bag of this specially formulated soil for both cactus and succulents.
Highly recommend!

This is only soil I will use for my cacti and succulents. I always have luck propagating succulents when I use the soil as opposed to other soils I have tried. My plants have remained healthy and usually get very good grow time.

I found an aloe at a store that was sorely in need of pupping, so I ordered this soil (the store didn't have it). This is a nice mix -- not too soft and not too dry -- and the repotted pups are rooting in like crazy. Product arrived so quickly that I had to wait a few days while the pups finished hardening off. I'm now eyeing a few more succulents...and this will be the product I will use. Oh, also I am using this to grow an elephant ear bulb in an outdoor pot -- it's taken notice and seems quite eager to get on with things! I am using this soil in both indoor and outdoor situations, and will update if there are any differences.

Purchased this product, as well as Hoffman's organic potting soil, to plant Christmas cactus cuttings. Admittedly a novice in this area, the mix appears to have borne fruit, as the Christmas cactus appears to have established itself and displayed buds right in time. Regretfully, I can offer little more expertise. In summary, thoroughly pleased!
